Dachsund through the snow!

I bought this gorgeous stamp set in September as a SSS exclusive. I'm so pleased I did- it has came in handy for lots of different cards this year. I made a whole set of small simple ones for my work colleagues but wanted to pull out the stops a bit more for this one, destined for my parents.

The background is don't with distress inks and colour bloom, plus versa colour metallic ink for the snowflakes. The stamps are mostly lawn fawns happy howlidays although I also borrowed some stamps from their toboggan together set.
Wink of stella was added to the snow and the whole thing is assembled with 3d foam mount pads athe different thicknesses.

Happy Howlidays!

Challenges;
(I've only just found this challenge and am gutted to find it is running for a final time- all the best guys)
Allsorts blue bingo (middle line, left to right... Alright the yellow is a bit gold but I added dimension with the 3d foam pads and there is definitely no designer paper!)

Almost Advent

Last year I stitched an advent calendar... this year I went for something paper based. By the time I'm fifty there'll be no room in the house for Christmas decorations because it'll be full of advent calendars instead!!

Close ups of the stamped background and the Christmas greeting in the centre.

I'm not going to tell you how to make it on here, for that you'll need to head over to the Craft Barn website where there is a full tutorial, as well as some lovely other ideas for advent calendars from my teamies.

I'd like to link this project in to the following challenges;

Quick... before it's winter!

Just a quick share tonight as I made this autumanl feeling card last week and realised it'll soon be too wintery to share it! We have had an absolutely stunning Autumn here in Devon though. A true display of Autumns finest; in the trees, the skies and the temperatures!

The main image stamp is from Penny Black and the sentiment is Lawn Fawn. I mounted on some gold vellum I had and inked with distress inks. Hope you like it!

Autumn glow

Yesterday my first ever craft barn dt post went live:) I thought I would share the project here too although you can see the full tutorial on their website here.

 This scene was stamped using card-io pleasant pastures on to tissue paper with a distress ink background.
I affixed it to a jam jar using watered down PVA.
And added a few finishing touches to create an autumnal lantern.

I'd like to enter this project in to the autumn challenges at Stamping sensations and Penny black and more.

It's beginning to look a bit like Autumn...

Well hello there!

I'm conscious that the blog has been rather quiet recently, but I have been preparing a whole host of projects with my newly appointed craft barn design team member hat on, so watch this space!!

For now, I wanted to share a little autumnal make with you. This is the first autumn that I have owned a dog and I am so grateful that it gets me out in the woods every day so I can truly see the season changing. This year seems to be a particularly good one for mushrooms so if you're out and about, keep your eyes peeled!

This card is made with some paper from my stash, a bit of gold sheen vellum and of course a lovely penny black hedgie stamp coloured with promarkers. I used sizzix autumn gatherings die to cut the leaves out of gold paper and vellum and stuck them down with quickie glue. I have found it's a really good glue on vellum as it doesn't show through.

Take care and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

Crafty individuals clean and simple style

I've had the idea for this card in my head ever since the crafty individuals less is more theme was announced . Today I finally got to put it on to paper!

I cut a wave shaped mask and stuck it down with repositionable glue. Next I stamped the dragonflies in clear embossing ink before lifting part of the mask to stamp the greeting in black. I embossed all of the stamping in clear embossing powder and repositioned the mask ready to blend a selection of distress inks over the top. To give it a finishing touch, I added a few dabs of alchemy wax.

O is for...

Good evening!

Tonight I am sharing the next installment of my dictionary for the craft barn alpha/dictionary challenge. The chosen letter is O and although I've spotted a few other people who've picked this word, I couldn't resist...
 O is for Owl :)

I have a lovely set of hobby art owls which were out to good use in the making of this page!

I never like to fully hide the dictionary page, but I did feel that text all over the owls would be too much so I used a bit of chalk paint to roughly cover the background.
Next I added in the bark stamps and smooshes of ground espresso distress ink applied with a paint brush.
The owls are coloured with inktense pencils and I finished off with some spots of glitter and started to light up the sky.

That's all for now, thanks for calling by.
